After a live video leaked showing Babes Wodumo being assaulted by Mandla Maphumulo aka Mampintsha. This caused the south african public to stand up together against violence and abuse against women and children. Various political parties also came forth and raised awareness against abuse and stood with Babes condemning the acts of Mampintsa as barbaric .
A warrant for Mandla's arrest was issued and he was arrested within a week of its issue . He was later released on a bail of two thousand rands (R2000. 00). To his defense Mampintsa took to the media that the situation is not what it appears to be. He claimed that Babes has problems with drugs and alcohol and that she's the abusive one. Mampintsha kept on playing the victim card and further went to say that he will not plead guilty to any of the charges brought forth.
It was not long before Mampintsa released a hit single called Ingane which got Twitter up in a storm of criticism and famous Djs such as Tira were uploading their videos playing the song. This got black Twitter angry against Tira and Mampintsa, accusing him of supporting the abuse of women and children.
It was not long before Babes was also caught in a cease fire between during a Twitter storm against her after performing the Ingane hit single . They claimed Babes had no shame and remorse after what she did. Though Babes didn't seem to care about the criticism of the masses , the storm continued.
